My name is Meco Robinson. I am excited to be the School Counselor at Golden Rule Charter School in Pleasant Grove.  I have served as the School Counselor since August.  I had one prior year of school counseling experience.  Previously, I have worked in education, as a teacher’s assistant, substitute teacher, and a middle school math and special education teacher for 22yrs.  My bachelors degree is from California State University Fresno in Liberal Arts/Teaching.  My masters degree is from University Texas at Arlington in Curriculum and Instruction in Math.  


I grew up in California and moved to Dallas to teach.  I am a wife and  a mother of two sons that have graduated from college.  I love gardening and volunteering in my community.  I am excited to build relationships with the students and families at Golden Rule Schools.

Miss Rodriguez was born and raised in the great city of San Antonio. A former journalist, Rodriguez obtained her bachelors and masters degrees in communication arts from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, the largest private Hispanic-serving university in Texas, and the largest Catholic university in Texas. She was an editorial assistant at the San Antonio Express-News for a weekly bilingual publication, and a freelance writer for various San Antonio and DFW-area publications. Over the course of her career as an educator she stayed active in scholastic journalism, including advising student-produced yearbooks and newspapers. She taught Spanish, journalism, and photojournalism before transitioning into school counseling. She obtained her second masters degree in school counseling from Amberton University. Rodriguez is also employed with Dallas College where she’s a speech adjunct professor.

I've been a public educator for over 30 years and married for over 20. I earned my B.S. in Education and M.S. in Counseling from Oklahoma State University and my M.Ed. from Texas A & M University, Commerce. My passions include volunteering for retired racing Greyhounds rescue, the Junior League of Dallas, and Oklahoma State University's scholarship committee. I truly enjoy helping people and animals lead happy and fulfilling lives.

I earned a BA in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from illustrious Wiley College "Home of the Great Debaters". I earned a Master's in Education in School Counseling with Lamar University. I have been in education, working with students K-12th teaching life skills which include College and Career Readiness, Financial Literacy among other things as well. I have helped students reach their personal goals by mentoring and educating them to their next level. My goal is to continue to be the change I want to see in the world.
