Duties: responsible for a self-contained classroom for children with mild to moderate disabilities; teach Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies to high school students. Provide special education students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and materials according to their ability levels. Design and evaluate lesson plans which allow for individual learning. Develop long range goals and objectives for each student. Keep accurate records to evaluate and report the progress of each student. Will employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the physical limitation of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individual or groups concerned. Require Texas teaching certificate with special education EC-12 designations. Requires bachelor's degree, in education, accounting or related fields. Mathematics, Science and Social Studies to students with limited proficiency in English and non-English speaking students. Students range in grade level from first through fourth grade. Spanish language skills are required in order to teach students with limited proficiency in English.  Develop and implement lesson plans, prepare subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA Board policies. Require Texas teaching certificate with elementary and bilingual designations. Requires bachelor's degree, in education, law or social science.
